Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father was from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria who is half-sister to Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated to Mendocino County, California when she was seven. In Mendocino County, they did not have electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader because of the lack of television. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12 years old. In 1986 she was offered her first role on the big screen in the movie Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her time in high school. Her hope was that acting would bring about a change. Sadly that didn't happen. Still, she pursued her dream. In 1988, it was when Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder was able to continue her successful characters in numerous films. In 1993, he was nominated two times for Academy Awards.
